CNN’s longtime New York Stock Exchange correspondent, Susan Lisovicz, is no longer with the network.
Lisovicz was CNN’s primary correspondent on the stock market before announcing to her co-workers that she would be leaving the network after her contract was not renewed. She also reported for CNN International, HLN and CNN Radio.
Trained at Trinity and All Saints College in England, Lisovicz earned a degree in communications from William Paterson University. They awarded her the President’s Medal in 1999. Prior to working for CNN she was an anchor and correspondent for CNBC where she covered the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, Disney’s acquisition of ABC, and Westinghouse purchasing CBS. She reported and produced a series on the handing over of the Panama Canal and well as reporting in a series on the end of apartheid in South Africa.
Since joining the CNN team, Lisovicz has interviewed some of the most influential executives of big business, including Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. She anchored Headline News and reported in the field for the September 11th attacks, the death of Pope John Paul II and Hurricane Katrina.
Why CNN did not renew this woman’s contract after doing such extraordinary work for them is beyond me. I’d imagine it all comes down to money. There’s no word on who will take over for this reporting giant, but CNN told TVNewser, “CNN maintains its commitment to business news and will maintain a presence at the NYSE.”
