Early Wednesday morning two WWE stars were arrested for public drunkeness in Kentucky according to TMZ.
Cops responded to a call around 5 A.M. at a gas station in Crescent Springs where someone complained that there were two men fighting in a cab. The cops arrived on the scene to find Chris Jericho and Greg “Hurricane” Helms highly intoxicated (the police put it as they were “manifestly under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.”). Both of the men were arrested, but the police said they were both very cooperative.
TMZ also reports that Greg Helms allegedly smacked three people, including a woman before he and Jericho were arrested. The police report indicates that he fled the scene after the “violence” but returned in time to be arrested. He was not arrested for the alledged assault because none of the alleged victims have pressed charges (which is a requirement in Kentucky for assault that is not witnessed by police officers).
Crescent Springs is about twenty minutes from Cincinnati where the wrestlers participated in a WWE event on Tuesday. The two men were taken into custody in Kenton County and released on $120 bond each. I’m not sure why the bond was so small, but I’d imagine public drunkeness is not as much of a threat to society as, say, murder. Plus, it’s not like either of the men were Mel Gibson or Lindsey Lohan.
