This week’s new television DVD releases takes us back quite a ways to a classic show from my own childhood. The Waltons first aired in the fall of 1972 and ran for nine years, ending its 1930s tale of the Walton family in 1981. These made-for-TV reunion movies are set in the 1940s and 1960s, showing the family growing up and the children becoming adults all on their own.  If you are a fan of this classic series, you won’t want to miss out on this collection.  If you are a newcomer to the show, all I can say is that this was one of the best prime-time family shows of the 1970s and it truly is a classic you will want to see.
