Last night American Idol went to windy city hoping to find talent. Shania Twain joined judges Simon, Randy and Kara to help weed out the trash. 12 thousand people showed up to audition for a chance to sing for America, too bad only a hand full hand a deceit voice.
The first American Idol wanna be was a great singer and gave the judges high hopes for “Chi-town.” It went downhill from there. There was a cavalcade of badly dressed people who couldn’t sing on key if there lives depended on it. I have to wonder are all there family and friends tone deaf or are they just to nice to be truthful. I would much rather tell my friends they are not good singers than to let them act like a fool on national television.
At one point, Simon had to go out and talk to the mother of a girl who didn’t make it.
The whole family was up in arms about the issue. They never showed her singing so I don’t know how she was, but Simon went to talk to them anyway. He told them he just wasn’t good enough and that they would still love him after this.
Angela is back. Angela appeared a couple of seasons ago but her father died right before the show started and she was knocked out in the first couple of weeks. Then she was sent back in season eight and got down to the final 50 but, she had a warrant for a speeding ticket and had to come home. She performed and made it through for the third time. Maybe this time she’ll get to stay.
One the first day they gave out eight golden tickets to Hollywood. They second day was even worse. Not a single golden ticket was given out until 1:30 p.m. Shania was so happy to actually hear a decent voice she was beside her self. When the last group of twenty or so got ready, only two tickets had been given. The last group was luckier three of them received tickets. This brings the total tickets given in Chicago to 13. Out of 12 thousand people only 13 made it. That is ridiculous. There has to be so many more good singers in a group that size.
