Thursday Theater: A Week for Action and Love

I love this week’s movies. There are not a lot of newer movies on, but there are some awesome older movies airing. There is a movie for everyone in the entire family airing the week. My DVR is working overtime this week to make sure I don’t miss a minute of these silver screen movies on the small screen. All the times below are Central time. Please check for the times in your area.

Kids Corner-

Karate Kid Saturday- January 16, 2010- 7:00 p.m. – Cartoon Network

Green Lantern: First Flight – The Green Lantern has to race against time to stop Sinestro from destroying the world.

Saturday- January 16, 2010- 8:00 p.m. – The Disney Channel

Up, Up and Away- A superhero’s son tries to save his parents from an evil bad guy, even though he has no superpowers of his own.

Saturday- January 16, 2010- 7:00 p.m. – VH1

The Karate Kid- Ralph Macchio stars in this classic tale of a boy who learns karate from Mr. Miyagi, to combat bullies.

Guy Time-

Blown away Sunday- January 17, 2010- 7:00 p.m. – CW

Blown Away- This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Tommy Lee Jones and Jeff Bridges star in this explosive action thriller. There is just something about Tommy Lee Jones as a crazed psycho. I get all gitty thinking about it.

Sunday- January 17, 2010- 7:00 p.m. – TBS

The Rock- Another of may favorite action movies. Sean Connery plays the only man to ever escape from Alcatraz. He has to help the U.S. government to break back in and stop a terrorist plot. This one of those movies everyone should see.

Saturday- January 16, 2010- 7:00 p.m. – Showtime

Disaster Movie-This is a parody movie like Date Movie and Scary Movie. A bunch of impossibly attractive 20 year olds have to survive a night of man-made and natural disasters.
