Conan_OBrien_300x300There is major speculation after the NBC late night debacle that next week will be Conan O’Brien’s last week hosting The Tonight Show. TV Squad noted today that last night’s show felt like a series sendoff. While O’Brien could spend his last days with jokes jabbing at NBC, it seems he’s returned to his comedic roots. There was a fair amount of network bashing, but all-in-all, he kept it real, and carried on with the show in classic “down-with-the-ship” sea captain spirit.

TV Squad also pointed out on Twitter that tickets for the Tonight Show are not going to be available during the week of January 25 through January 29, which continues to support the notion that next week will be O’Brien’s final week on the air.

Interesting to note is that if you click on any of the show dates after January 22, the dates are listed unavailable, even up through April.

Rumors note that O’Brien’s team is trying to gather as many big names for next week as possible, so they can send O’Brien out in style. With the recent ratings surge on account of the mess, imagine how high the ratings will be if the team manages to pull in a host of big names. It’ll make Leno’s comeback to the slot a complete train wreck, and give O’Brien the last word.
