Thanks to NBC and their recent decision to completely destroy late night television and Conan O’Brien, there is a ton of comedic fodder out there, and Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t about to let a single drop of it slip through his hands. Jay Leno, who has been dominating late night on NBC for over fifteen years, is going to get a lot of flak thanks to the late night debacle. Viewer comments have been pouring in from all over the Net, some noting that Leno is nothing more than a selfish hack lacking in humor, yet allowed to continue taking advantage of helpless viewers who would rather be watching Conan.

In response to the NBC muck-up, Kimmel came onto the set of his late night talk show last night dressed as Jay Leno, and spent the entire show acting out the part. There has been some speculation about the eventual repercussions of his act, considering Kimmel and Leno are noted to be friends, but come on. It’s late night, it’s comedy, and Leno has spent enough of his career making fun of everyone and anyone who managed to slip into the spotlight. What comes around goes around, and I have a feeling as things continue to unravel on NBC, fans are going to get a lot more vocal about what they want to see.

Personally, I love watching people make fun of Jay Leno. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, even though I know if Leno ever met me, he’d have enough comedic material for at least a month. So, thank you Jimmy Kimmel. You made my morning, and I’d just like to say Leno’s chin looks way better on you than it does on him.
