Chuck_Season_Three_300x300Chuck started this newest season with an explosive two episode premiere.  Last season, after an explosive wedding for his sister Ellie, Chuck uploaded the Intersect into his brain in order to save his friends.  Now, the government is trying to get him to be upgraded, a real spy, and he has to give everything up for it.

We start with Chuck botching a training simulation and getting fired from the government.  He ends up crashing on his sister’s couch, lamenting his life as he rejected Sarah’s offer to run away and be a normal couple in order to be a spy and then he gets fired for it.   After Sarah ignores his calls, he tries to help her and Casey with an operation, but because of his emotional instability he has trouble “flashing” (getting information from the Intersect).  An assassin kidnaps Chuck and Sarah and Chuck flashes several times in order to save him.  The government reinstates his program.

Corinne shows up and accuses Sarah of breaking the cardinal rule of spying- spies don’t fall in love.  She gets Chuck and the crew to help her bring down an arms dealer who has fallen in love with her.  After they steal an important piece of weaponry from the dealer, he tracks them down to Chuck’s apartment where Chuck’s new roommate, his friend Morgan, is throwing a party.  Corinne tricks the dealer into letting her go and knocks him out.  Before she leaves to give the weaponry to the government, she gives Sarah footage of Chuck professing how he feels for Sarah while stealing the weaponry.

Chuck is a really great show that surprised me with how good it is.  I was really rooting for Chuck the whole way.  Zachery Levi has done wonders with this character and I know I can’t wait to see what happens this coming season.
