First, let’s talk about Lost. I became a huge fan about six months ago when I borrowed DVDs of all of the previous seasons from my parents. Feeling something like a crack addict, I holed myself up in my den and watched all seasons until there were no more to watch…and then I went through withdrawal and became the recovering addict that I am today.
So you can imagine my joy when I heard that the final season of Lost would be premiering on February 2nd. I would finally find out who this Jacob character was, and I would be able to get more of Sawyer and Kate.
Until President Obama stepped in and ruined my Lost fun when he scheduled his State of the Union Address to air at the same time as the season premiere of my new favorite show. The only other date that was “open” for the president to deliver his address was on January 26th, during the season premiere of American Idol. For whatever reason, it’s been deemed that interrupting American Idol would upset far more Americans than interrupting Lost…which I simply don’t believe.
I understand that Obama needs to deliver his address. He has lots of things to say, and Americans need to hear them. However…why in the world does he have to ruin my fun? Why can’t he address the nation when nothing that I want to watch is on TV…like at 2 o’clock in the afternoon?
