Were you ever curious about how Brother Cavil and the other Cylons orchestrated their attack on the Twelve Colonies? Maybe after Boomer kidnapped Hera, you started to question just how deep her actual involvement might have been in the original attack. What about Sam, Tori, Chief, Colonel and Ellen Tigh? Where were they when it all went down, and how did they manage to survive?
Directed by Edward James Olmos, The Plan was released on DVD back in October 2009 and features more then twenty-two minutes of footage that won’t air on the television premier. I must say, being a major BSG fan, I was somewhat disappointed in how much of the story was rehashed from season one, actually featuring footage and scenes from the series.
On the other hand, it managed to expand the universe, and offers fascinating insight into the “Final Five,” as well as several incarnations of the other seven models.
Battlestar Galactica left a lot of unanswered questions throughout the series, some of which the directors and writers may never answer, but they’re finally going to let us inside the Cylon plot to destroy their human creators this Friday on Syfy. Explore the mastermind behind The Plan, and find out how it all began, this Friday on Syfy.
Ronald Moore and David Eick are also expanding the Battlestar Galactica mythology and universe through the prequel series, Caprica, which kicks off later this month. Stay tuned for more news over the next couple weeks. Having already seen the debut mini-series, I can tell you know, it’s going to blow your mind.

I'm still on the fence about seeing this. I loved the series (it was literally the only show I watched, and I mean literally LITERALLY) but the finale so disappointed me, I lost the taste for BSG. Maybe in time I will rent it. That Edward James Olmos directed it is a mark in its favour, as he helmed some great episodes. Thanks for the review!
