New Year’s Eve offered many lovely shows to watch when the ball dropped.  One of the few I didn’t watch was CNN’s special, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin (because when I think CNN, I think Kathy Griffin!).

If any of you have watched Kathy Griffin’s specials, you knew what was coming.  On the live special, Kathy dropped the F bomb, joked about needing a “bump” of cocaine, and even went so far as to ask Anderson Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking at himself in the mirror.  This sounds pretty par for the course with Kathy Griffin, but apparently CNN never watched The D List.

CNN executives have decided that Griffin will not be invited back next year.  I’m sure she’s crying into her pillow in despair (there’s that sarcasm again!) because CNN doesn’t want her back.  It’s not even her target audience!  Plus, CNN’s special bombed in the ratings, falling far far FAR behind Dick Clark’s Rockin New Years Eve with Ryan Seacrest (everyone loves watching Dick Clark for his yearly de-thawing from cryo-stasis).

Honestly, I don’t think anyone surprised that this has ended the way it has.  CNN’s supposed to be “The Most Trusted Name In News.”  You’d think they’d do some research before they hire someone.  Yeesh.
