Michael Jackson – This Is It – Directed by Spike Lee from 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks on Vimeo.

Director Spike Lee paid tribute to late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in the official video for Jackson’s “This Is it.” Combining images and footage of Jackson’s four and a half decade career, along with artistic shots of things like the singer’s hands and fan signs expressing their sorrow and gratitude for his contribution to the music world.

Despite numerous personal scandals over the years, there is no denying that Michael Jackson left a positive mark on the music industry that will long outlive the negative press he received. Jackson still currently holds the record for the most album sales of all time, for “Thriller.” He reigned over the 1980s, achieving more #1 hits during the entire decade than any other artist. In the year 2000, the World Music Awards named him Best Selling Male Pop Artist of the Millennium.

As the year winds down, and we look back at 2009, one of the greatest losses of the year was Michael Jackson. His eccentric, yet artistic vision and musical voice will be missed as life goes on without him.
