American Masters (9:00 p.m. EST, PBS)
Tonight’s episode is “Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women.” Of course I had to include it as a must-see program! I was an English major in college, after all. For those of you who remember growing up reading Alcott’s “Little Women,” “Little Men,” and other well-known novels, you’ll find out some interesting gems about the author. You’ll even find out that Alcott wasn’t just about wholesome literature. She also made some moolah as a lurid pulp fiction author (under a pseudonym, of course).
MythBusters (9:00 p.m. EST, DSC)
I love this show. You get to watch myths as they are proven (or busted), and a lot of the time, there’s an explosion or two involved.
Tonight’s new episode, “Mini Myth Mayhem,” addresses six fables that were submitted by fans. Can you light a match with a bullet? Can you send a coconut with an address engraved into the skin through the mail? Find out the answers to these and more tonight.
Men of a Certain Age (10:00 p.m. EST, TNT)
Our favorite middle-aged men are as funny as ever in this new episode. The Thoreaus accompany Joe’s (Ray Romano) ex-wife (the beautiful Penelope Ann Miller) and her new beau for a school charity event…where Terry (Scott Bakula) is the auctioneer. Can you say awkward? Things get even more awkward when Terry funs into a former love. Joe decides to eat dinner with his bookie instead of going to the event.
