We all walk around asking, “Is this real life?” from time to time, but when you’re seven years old and all hopped up on pain meds and anesthesia, you really wanna know the answer. Poor David. His dad took him to the dentist to have an extra tooth removed back in May of 2008, but Mom couldn’t be there with him. Dad just so happened to have the video camera with him, and hilarity ensued.

He had a little trouble counting his fingers, and at one point even told Dad, “You have four eyes,” which garnered a chuckle from his dad. Apparently, David had a good laugh about it later, when the drugs wore off, but imagine the embarrassment this is going to rouse when he’s sixteen and bringing home his first girlfriend.

David After Dentist has received just under 39 million downloads since its upload in January 2009. The refreshing thing about this video is that David’s parents were offered a partnership with YouTube to earn some revenue, and they later set up shop, selling T-shirts and stickers to commemorate the event. While they’ll be able to contribute to David and his brother’s college fund with the earnings, they have also decided to teach the boys a little bit about giving. A portion of all earnings from YouTube revenue and the D.A.D. shop go to Operation Smile, a charity that provides dental surgery to children in need all over the world.
