As many of you know, Brittany Murphy died Sunday of what’s believed to be a cardiac arrest. She was 32. I can’t do her life (or death) justice the way my colleague Jennifer Huddock did, so please look at her article for more information.
Simon Cowell made news this weekend. Apparently, after the 2010 season of American Idol, Mr. Cowell may be leaving to focus on bringing the British X Factor over to America. There’s talk of his bringing the show to FOX network, which would mean he’d be on the same network as American Idol. As of yet, neither FOX nor American Idol has commented.
In more upsetting news, choreographer Shane Sparks has been charged with nine counts of child molestation. Shane Sparks is a judge on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and helped on occasion with So You Think You Can Dance. The allegations against Sparks are that lewd acts were performed with a female at least ten years younger than him and began in 1994. Sparks is being held on $590,000 bail.
If you’re tired of Guy Fieri, sad news for you. If you can’t get enough of this excited chef, then rejoice! Guy Fieri (of Food Network fame) is slotted to host NBC’s new game show Perfect 10, in which contestants will compete in 60 second challenging games that increase in difficulty. There’s no real telling what the games entail, but I do know that Fieri will bring as much enthusiasm to the show as he brings to everything else he does.
Well, that wraps it up for this weekend! Tune in next Monday to find out what happened while you were out!
