Emergency services were alerted around 8:00 a.m. by Murphy’s husband, and she was taken immediately to Cedars-Sinai, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Multiple sources have reported that she died from cardiac arrest and several attempts were made to revive her to no avail. At present, there are no details available on what caused the actress to go into cardiac arrest, as this story is still developing.

Murphy has appearead in numerous films throughout the span of her eighteen year acting career, like Clueless, 8-Mile, Sin City and Don’t Say a Word. She also acted in numerous television series as a teen, such as Blossom, Sister Sister and Boy Meets World.

She was also well known for providing the unique voice for Hank Hill’s slow-to-the-chase niece, Luanne Platter in Fox’s adult cartoon series, King of the Hill.

She was currently involved in five upcoming films, still in the production stages of development and slated for 2010 release.

The 32-year-old actress was married to Simon Monjack. The couple had no children.
