Kevin_Nealon_300x300Kevin Nealon hosted Funniest Commercials of 2009 earlier this week and had us all rolling in the aisles.

Per the usual, the international commercials got much more screen time than the ones aired in North America.  It seems that the international community is a little less prudish with their television than we are, which makes for some very interesting commercial situations.  The top ten ads were voted upon by the public through the power of the Internet.

One particular commercial that caught my eye was an Axe commercial in Argentina.  In it, the man wakes up covered in squares.  There are squares all over his apartment actually, on the couch, in the pool, even on his front steps.  He sprays on his Axe cologne and goes out.

 Because of the power of the spray, he gets a girl’s number.  I won’t ruin it for you, but you’ll see really quickly where those squares come from.

Other companies who had their highly rated ads featured were Bianco Footwear, Low Low Cheese, and Canal Plus.  No matter what commercials were shown, the very apparent theme was that sex sells.
