How I Met Your Mother (8:00 p.m. EST, CBS)
This show kills me. My brother got onto me about giving it a shot, and once I did, I realized why. The quirky humor, the snarky comments…and Neil Patrick Harris. Of course this show rocks. On tonight’s episode, the gang tries to quit smoking cigarettes. Poor guys—I know it’s a drag. I’ve there plenty of times. Lily’s (Alyson Hannigan) smoking voice is provided by Harvey Fierstein. I smell hilarity!
The Sing-Off (8:00 p.m. EST, NBC)
The pilot of The Sing-Off airs tonight, and it’s sure to be as smashing as all of the other music/dance/talent shows out there. The premise of this one is a cappella groups. They come from around the nation to perform in the first round.
Nick Lachey hosts while music great Ben Folds (among others) judges. (Meet one set of contestants in the clip below.)
Men of a Certain Age (10:00 p.m. EST, TNT)
This series promises to be long-lasting. It focuses on three men who have been friends for years. We follow their lives as they face mid-life, all the while exploring what it is that makes male friendship so unique. On tonight’s episode, Joe (Ray Romano) debates moving out of the hotel he’s been living in since separating from his wife (Penelope Ann Miller). Meanwhile, Terry (Scott Bakula) flips out and takes it over the top trying to find the rude driver who almost ran him down.

Since you guys are doing what looks like a great idea on a cappella why not have as a judge the bass singer and leader of the most famous a cappella group, The Persuasions, JIMMY HAYES on the panel. 50 years in the business and over 30 albums and CD's make him an interesting character. He is personable, eloquent and has a great speaking voice.

I agree that the Persuasions are the Godfathers of a capella, and Hayes is the best harmony bass singer still living.
