This weekend had a lot of interesting stories that caught my eye. None were quite as interesting as those that deal with out favorite family full of fail: The Gosselins.
This week in Maryland, Jon Gosselin was supposed to appear in court dispute against TLC network. Apparently Jon Gosselin does not like to make court appearances and failed to show up. TLC executive Edward Sabin testified that Gosselin made unauthorized media appearances. They specifically pointed out a pool party Gosselin hosted in Las Vegas and how the photos contradicted the image they had cultured with their show Jon and Kate Plus 8. TLC won their battle after Gosselin’s lawyers produced no evidence and and the judge ruled that Gosselin must stop making media appearances.
While Jon’s busy not showing up in court, his kids are busy telling all of their schoolmates there’s no such thing as Santa Claus. US Magazine reports that the two oldest girls, Maddy and Cara, told their sextuplet siblings that Santa doesn’t exist who then decided to spread it around school. Nothing like spreading joy around Christmas time, eh Gosselins?
Meanwhile, creator of Law & Order SVU Dick Wolf has angered Bill O’Reilly for mentioning his name in the show. The show in question was about a man who started killing illegal immigrants’ children. His defense attorney, when talking to a cop, blames TV and radio commentators (he mentions Limbaugh, O’Reilly, and Glenn Beck by name) are the real people responsible for his client’s actions. Bill O’Reilly is furious and called Mr.
Wolf out on his show (check out the clip below).
In a move that some may call “dumb,” CEO Jeff Zucker renewed his contract with NBC Universal after closing the merger deal with Comcast. Jeff Zucker has been CEO since 2007, when NBC started its downturn in the ratings. In fact, NBC ratings hit a record low in May of this year. So the guy runs the company into the ground, merges with Comcast, and gets his contract renewed? Way to go NBC!
This has been your first Weekend Roundup… Tune in next Monday to see what atrocities happened while you were enjoying your weekend!

Wow, the Gosselin drama never ends. I'm not surprised Jon didn't show up for court since he didn't have a leg to stand on. We'll see if he obeys the judge's order or if further measures will have to be taken.

I think the world will rejoice when we stop seeing the Gosselins on television. Yeesh. And what's up with Bill O'Reilly?! That man's angrier that a mule on a ferris wheel.
