Outer Space Astronauts premiered last night on the Syfy Channel. That is about the best thing I can say about the show. The characters have human heads and animated bodies. It was similar to Robot Chicken.

The show centers on a group of ignorant astronauts that travel the galaxy. All the characters are inept and bumbling, expect for one officer, Amos.  Amos constantly has to follow the ridiculous orders of the captain. The captain is a party guy who is always burping and farting.

During this episode, the team hears a distress signal from an alien ship.  They hightail it to the ship’s location, leaving their maintenance man swinging in space. When they get to the alien ship, the captain tells the aliens to come on over to have pizza and beer at “Fun o’clock.” The aliens send a scantily clad, well endowed female to handle negotiations.

Of course, all the guys are just in awe of this alien. Then her crew arrives and they are big scary men. The aliens tell them that they want to discover their weaknesses and destroy them. Again, the crew is clueless.

After a night of crazy alien love, Amos discovers the plan of the aliens and tries to prepare an attack. The captain refuses and starts the self-destruct sequence. The maintenance guy floats back in and pulls a tube off the alien ship, causing the aliens to explode. Now, the female alien has joined the outer space astronauts.

Personally, this type of show is not my style. However, if you like lowbrow humor and bad animation, this show could be great for you.
