The Amazing Race 15 finale was full of ups and downs for all the teams. One challenge requiring math skills allowed one teams to slide in a head of the others. The episode started at last week’s pit stop. The teams left and had to find a flight to Las Vegas.
The first flight out to Vegas was at nearly eight hours after the first team left. This allowed all three teams to get on the same flight. Meghan and Cheyne and Sam and Dan were waiting at the airport expecting The Globetrotters to run in. They were all surprised to see Ericka and Brian walk through the door.
When the flight landed the teams went to the Graceland wedding chapel.
When they arrived all three teams busted in on a wedding where an Elvis impersonator was singing amazing grace. All the teams stopped and sang with him. The teams headed to the Mandalay Bay Hotel/Casino, for their first challenge. Brian and Ericka arrived first and Ericka did the road block. One team member had to repel down the 60 story building for the next clue. Cheyne did most the repelling with his eyes closed. Once the teams finished here, they were sent to the Mirage.
At The Mirage, the teams had to work together on the set of The Beatles Love, to shoot one team member up on bungees. Once the team member was high enough, they could grab a bouquet hanging from the ceiling. Brian and Ericka arrived first but could not get the right leverage down and ended up being the last ones to leave. Meghan and Cheyne left first and had to find the most popular casino in Monaco. They went to the wrong casino. This allowed the other teams to catch up. The other teams went straight for the Monte Carlo. Once there, they had to dig through piles of casino chips and count out one million dollars.
The teams had their piles at the counters at the same time, Meghan and Cheyne got the count right the first time. They headed to the MGM were they had to find MR. Las Vegas. Barry Manilow sent them to his home for the pit stop.
At the pit stop, all the eliminated teams sat and waited on the three final teams to arrive. Meghan and Cheyne, who got more 1st place finishes than any other team, pulled it out again for the one million dollars. Sam and Dan came in second and Brian and Ericka came in third.
This was a really great season, except that it went by way to quick. The outcome was pretty much what I expected, but all the teams ran their hardest and sometimes bad luck befalls us all.
