So many things are going on in the world of Dexter. What will this, the episode before the finale, bring?

Oh, Christine (Courtney Ford). I wish you would stop protecting your daddy, a.k.a. Trinity, a.k.a. Arthur Mitchell (John Lithgow). He doesn’t even like you. I thought that was somewhat obvious. Yet Christine continues to tell Miami homicide that she doesn’t even know her daddy.

Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is scared that Christine’s going to break and tell the cops Arthur’s name. So he sets his sights on finding a decoy for the Trinity Killer—which turns out to be an easy find, actually, since he has all of Lundy’s (Keith Carradine) Trinity files, which include possible suspects. Dexter hones in on one, a man who has killed in his past and is worthy of being Dexter’s victim. The decoy is killed, DNA evidence planted, and Miami Homicide is on his trail.

But he needn’t have worried—Christine won’t give up daddy, even when the cops find a stack of postcards from “Daddy.” Even Deb’s (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to connect to Christine aren’t successful…until they are. By the end of the episode, Christine has confessed to Lundy’s murder and to shooting Deb…and she kills herself in front of Deb. It was one of the most emotional and touching scenes I’ve seen on this show in a while.

Meanwhile, Dexter (as Kyle) acts like a blackmailer, demanding $50,000 from Arthur. So the cat and mouse game continues between the two serial killers. However, Arthur has his own ideas of what to do. He sets out to find where Kyle Butler (actually Dexter Morgan) lives, and he strikes out over and over again, finally realizing that Kyle Butler isn’t his real name.

So Arthur turns into the predator, stalking Dexter until he follows him to the Miami Police Headquarters. The suspense was killing me as I watched Arthur stalk the halls, looking for the familiar face he’s looking for. And then he sees Dexter, and he reads his name off of his ID. “Hello, Dexter Morgan,” Arthur says…let’s just say that chills went up my spine.

So the question is: how can Dexter get rid of Arthur before Arthur gets rid of Dexter…or those close to Dexter?
