This week’s Survivor Samoa episode was full of big moves, deceit and betrayal. Oh, how I love episodes like this. A good stab in the back really keeps me going. After last week’s elimination of Laura, Monica was furious with John for flipping.

Each remaining cast member was given a total of $500 to spend at the Survivor auction. Money could not be pooled and the prizes could not be shared. Jeff Probst revealed the first item for bid as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Natalie bought this sandwich for $200, possibly the most expensive PB&J ever purchased. Shambo purchased a concealed item for $240, which turned out to be sea noodles and slug guts. She ate this with pride because she needed the protein. Monica purchased a roasted chicken for $340. Jaison and John got into a bidding war over an advantage in an immunity challenge. Jaison won the war, spending $500 on the item. Mick purchased a huge hamburger, a glass of beer and a side of fries for $500. In the most ridiculous purchase of the night, John spent $200 on a clue for the immunity idol Russell already has. Then he spent $300 dollars on a slice of apple pie. He was given the option to share an entire pie with four other people and turned it down. Everyone knows if you don’t share your pie, you’re going to be hated.

Shambo counseled the chickens and explained to them that one of them was going to be eaten. While she was cooking the chickens, Dave insulted her and she flew off the deep end. She then had a dream she voted Dave off. She was twitching like crazy in her sleep. I was scared she was having a seizure.

At the immunity challenge, the contestants had to hold up a log by a rope. The rope had various knots in the log. Each contestant would hold onto the rope with one hand for three minutes then go down a knot and hold on with the other hand. Jaison advantage was that he could go up two knots at any moment during the challenge. Jaison won the challenge. Back at camp, Shambo was shooting for Dave, but Russell was gunning for John. Shambo is such a loose canon. If people don’t go her way, she’s going to be shooting for them next.

At tribal council, Shambo remarked that the camp was peaceful. She had no idea that people were strategizing behind her back. Even Jeff called her out on this point. During the vote, seven people voted for John, John voted for Mick, and Shambo voted for Dave. She was completely devastated.

John remarked after his eviction that Foa Foa was intellectually superior to Galu, something I have been saying since the merge. Next week, it looks like Mick and Jaison may be gunning for Russell.
