HAARP_300x300Jesse Ventura has been many things in his lifetime, but this time he’s taking on a role that is a bit different.  While some will be quick to blow off this series at just another attempt at “entertainment” by the former WWF wrestler, one-time Governor of Minnesota and Navy Seal, I would encourage you to check it out before you dismiss it.  I watched the premiere episode last night of the new TruTV show Conspiracy Theory and was mildly impressed.  You see, I’ve got a secret to share … I love a good conspiracy theory.  So this show was something I was hoping to really sink my teeth into.

Last night’s episode took the team deep into the remote area of Alaska where one of the government’s best-kept secrets exist.

Much like Groom Lake and Area 51 in Nevada, the government doesn’t admit to any hanky-panky going on here.  In fact, they claim that HAARP (High-Frequency Active Auroal Research Program) is just that – research.  It is interesting though that the unclassified research facility that is operated by the Air Force near the small Alaskan town of Gakona is highly secured and only offers open house walk-throughs to the public every two years.  NASA operates a high-altitude balloon program near my home and all I have to do to get into that place is call in advance for a tour.  Of course, I’m not going there with a camera crew and investigative team looking for a conspiracy either.

HAARP is suspicious simply because of what the scientists in the know and the people who designed it say that it is capable of.  For example, what do you think the military would want with a device that could be used to control the weather? How about mind control? I know what you’re thinking, but this is some serious stuff.  An array of hundreds of HF antennas is used to blast the atmosphere with billions of watts of power.  Do we really know what the heck we’re doing here?  Somehow I doubt it.  Put this place alongside the Large Hadron Collider as the two most probably scientific experiments to destroy the human race.  There, I said what conspiracy theorists have been thinking for a while now.

Anyway, I give Jesse Ventura and TruTV two thumbs up for this show.  If nothing else they are at least willing to take a look at some of the most controversial issues that are out there.  Over the next six episodes they will be looking at everything from 9/11 to 2012.  I’ll be right there over the next few weeks to check it out and I hope some of you will join me. Just don’t forget to bring your tinfoil hats. ;-)
