So, season two of my favorite show is coming to a close. How disappointing! But I have to say—I was more than excited to watch the season finale.
The episode opened up with our favorite people in jail. Yes, I’m talking about Weston (Henry Rollins), Zobelle (Adam Arkin), and Polly (Sarah Jones). Serves them right. But will they get busted the legal way, or will Sam Crow need to intervene?
Apparently, the FBI is cutting Zobelle and his annoying daughter loose. At least, that’s what Stahl (Ally Walker) says. So Unser (Dayton Callie) lets her in on a little secret: that Zobelle had Gemma (Katey Sagal) gang-raped and beat up.
So she gives Unser another little secret to nibble on: Zobelle is an FBI informant. Looks like it’s time for Sam Crow to dole out a can of whoop-ass. But there’s an obstacle that the boys weren’t counting on. The Mayans are acting as bodyguards to Zobelle and his daughter. Protecting their investment, as Clay (Ron Perlman) so rightly puts it.
So far, my favorite part of the episode is when Weston gets a few holes shot into him by Jax (Charlie Hunnam). Talk about retribution. I’m glad that racist rapist is out of the picture. I do wish that they had gang-raped him before killing him. That would be true retribution.
Meanwhile, Gemma gets the perfect opportunity to enact her revenge on Polly when she runs into her while buying supplies for the club. Have I told you all lately how much I love Gemma? I swear, that loves grows deeper with every episode I watch. Polly takes one bullet to the chest, and she’s down for the count. Great aim, Gemma. The only bad thing that comes out of it is that Stahl effectively frames Gemma for the murder of both Polly and Eddie. I really hate that ATF agent.
Eddie’s dad follows Half-Sack (Johnny Lewis) to Tara’s (Maggie Siff) place, as he is under the impression that Gemma killed his son. So he turns his gun on Tara and threatens Jax’s baby with a knife. Half-Sack gets stabbed in the scuffle, and it almost brought tears to my eyes. And then that jerk takes Abel. Big mistake, man. Big mistake.
Watching the Sons take down the Mayans who were protecting Zobelle was classic. I actually laughed out loud. And Zobelle, the coward, hides out in a general store crowded with kids. But the Sons have to leave before the job is done in order to save Abel.
When we leave the Sons, Tara’s a wreck, Zobelle’s climbing on board a jet, Jax is having a nervous breakdown, Gemma’s on the run, and Abel’s on board a boat with the Irish. Where the hell does this leave us for next season?
