The Thanksgiving episode of Survivor: Samoa gave us further insight into this season and its cast. The first 27 days of this season we have seen three immunity idols, two medical evacuations and one lost chicken.

The episode started with a recap of the season so far: the 20 castaways coming to the island and the set up of the camps. We revisited the challenges and saw some extra footage of Jaison loosing it when John cheated and got thrown out of the challenge.

Most of the episode was about Russell.  Some things we learned are that Russell is a multi-millionaire that made $1.7 million last year.  He also told Mick this information in exchange for learning that Mick is a doctor.  Russell also has Natalie in his back pocket.

What ever he tells her to do she does without question. She thinks she is just going to follow him to the end. If she does she will never win. No one wants to give the prize to someone that never thinks for themselves.

In one of the new scenes, all the Foa Foa members were sneaking off eating papaya alone.  They all thought they were the only one. Somebody cut down an entire tree and drug it off into the woods. Sharing is not their best quality.

Erik from Galu had a vendetta against the chicken Shambo lost. He was stalking the chicken. On day 12 he almost had it but, it outran him. On day 20, he still had it out for the chicken.  He was doing some weird Rocky ritual before hunting the chicken. Then he decided to set a trap for the chicken. Unfortunately, he was gone when the chicken came back and Shambo sprung the trap catching the chicken. You would have thought it was Christmas morning. Erik was jump screaming and hugging everyone. His enjoyment was short lived when Russell opened the coop, in the hope that the chickens would run for it.

Dave and the other Galu men went to Shambo promising to take her far in the game, but refusing to tell her anything. This was insulting to Shambo and may have been the reason for her flip.  I would have also been insulted. This was probably the worst thing they could have done.

Next week, Jaison and Mick start to question Russell’s leadership and Shambo is gunning for Dave. It also looks like they are having another survivor auction.
