School is in, and the lessons are coming hard and fast. This week, Ghost Hunters Academy takes on Eastern State Penitentiary. A new student is accepted at the school and her classmates are on edge. Instructors Steve and Tango informed us last week that someone may go home.

As the RV rolls up to the prison, the students hear a brief history of the prison. It was built in 1829 and shut its doors in 1971. One of the most famous prisoners incarcerated here was Al Capone. The students were introduced to their new classmate, a girl named Jane. On the first night of the investigation, the team couldn’t get the investigation bus into gear. They spent hours trying to setup cameras to no avail. Ben tried to take a leadership roll, but quickly lost steam. The team ended up having to tear down and go home with no investigation.

On night two, Steve and Tango took over the setup, placing Karl over central command. The setup this night only took 45 minutes. Chris and Susan were put to the test when smoke or fog came rolling through the cell block they were investigating. They searched for the source of this fog and discovered it was a test by Steve and Tango. It was a simple trick with dry ice.

Steve and Tango watched the teams closely and called out many of the members for bad investigation skills. One of the funniest things was when Jane tried to use the thermal. She said she had a lot of experience, but Steve and Tango had to step in when it wouldn’t focus, only to discover the lens cap was still on. The lens cap is the first thing you should check on any camera! When they called her out on another issue, she ran out crying. This girl needs to learn how to suck it up.

The equipment did not yield very much evidence, only one quick moan on the audio. After this, Steve and Tango took everyone inside and showed the students how noises can carry. All of the students were asked to step outside, except Jane and Heathyr. After a stern talking to, the instructors informed Heathyr that she had failed out of Ghost Hunters Academy.

I said last week that if anyone went home, I hoped it was Heathyr. I’m glad to see my wish come true this week. Maybe soon these students will become a cohesive team. If Jane doesn’t step up, she maybe going home next.
