Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and the parades are gearing up. Grab your remote and set the DVR for the amazing Thanksgiving Day parades. Growing up one of my fondest memories was waking up on Thanksgiving morning and flipping on the TV, for hours of floats, stars and cool performances. This year is no different. I have my TiVo set so I don’t miss one minute of the action.
The Thanksgiving Day Parade
CBS – 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., CST
The 49th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS will be hosted by Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price. Jamie Kennedy from the TV show Ghost Whisperer will be serving as the “man on the street.” Some of the guest include: The Broadway casts from Ragtime, Dream Girls and West Side Story. Reba McEntire is also set to perform during the parade.
The McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade
WGN – 8:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m., CST
The 76th Annual McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade is set to prance down the streets of Chicago early Thanksgiving morning. If you watch this parade, you can see a glimpse of Ronald McDonald, Bear in the Big Blue House and characters of Sesame Street.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
NBC – 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, CST
The 83rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is stuffed full of stars, which include: Andrea Bocelli, Boys Like Girls and Allen Cumming. Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer and Al Roker will be the hosts for the events, and of course, the parade will include a wide array of performances, floats and balloons.
America’s Thanksgiving Parade
ABC – 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, CST
The 83rd Annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade is all set to march down the streets of Detroit. This parade is one of the oldest televised Thanksgiving parades in America. They have promised viewers that this year it will not disappoint.
Any of these Thanksgiving Day parades will get you into the holiday spirit. I think that every family in America should sit down together and watch at least one parade this holiday season.
