This week’s Criminal Minds marks the series’ 100th episode, and they did it up in a big way with one of the most dramatic episodes CBS has ever produced. Finally, the Criminal Minds team is able to track down the Reaper and he made it fairly easy too, by luring Hotchner’s ex-wife back to their home.

In one of the sickest moves by any serial killer, the Reaper first tells Hotchner’s ex-wife that Hostner is dead in order to get her to break her cover and come home. The Reaper then calls him on the phone and allows Hotchner’s ex to speak with him letting her know exactly how bad of a situation she was in.

The Reaper then allows them to say their goodbyes just before he fires three shots into Hotchner’s ex-wife, killing her.

Hotchner’s son remembers a game they played where the boy would go hide and this ends up saving his son’s life. Hotchner gets to the house to find his ex-wife dead and dragged upstairs into the bedroom where the Reaper lay in wait to kill him too.

Through a reflection in the mirror Hotchner notices the man’s shoes sticking out from under the curtain behind him and is able to turn and shoot him multiple times. Unfortunately the Reaper has on a bulletproof vest and the rounds do not actually kill him. A hand to hand fight ensues and the Reaper tries to surrender, but Hotchner ends up literally beating the Reaper to death with his bare hands. He is still beating the man when the rest of the Criminal Mind’s team make it to the scene.

Again, one of the most powerful shows of Criminal Minds to date, needless to say it was highly entertaining.
