Sam Crow is getting ready for a battle. The members and their old ladies pack bags, prepare guns, and hole up at the clubhouse. It looks like trouble’s coming. Clay (Ron Perlman) opens up the episode by welcoming a roomful of people to the clubhouse and promising their safety.

Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and a few club members meet up with the racist AJ (Henry Rollins) and tell him all about Zobelle’s (Alan Arkin) dealings with the Mayans. Needless to say, our most hated white supremacist isn’t happy with the news. After sneaking around and finding out that Jax was telling the truth, AJ blows some brains up. Then he sets his sights on Zobelle. And then AJ’s kids get taken away from him—this guy just can’t get a break. (And I’m so happy about that.)

The club members reach out to the blacks, to the Chinese, to whoever they can get on their team against Zobelle and the Mayans. Finally, Jax sets up a time to duel with AJ, and I can’t wait for what I’m hoping will come next.

Back at the clubhouse, Gemma (Katey Sagal) educates Tara (Maggie Siff) about how to command respect as the old lady of a higher-up of the Sons. Gemma, you can take me under your wing any time. The two women have a connection now that goes deeper than Sam Crow. During a heart-to-heart about religion, Gemma reveals that she knows what her role is supposed to be: a fierce mother. Tara, in turn, realizes what her role should be, and she shows her annoying, bitchy supervisor the reasons why you don’t mess with an old lady. This was, by far, my favorite scene of the episode. Tara has turned into a bad ass, and I like her this way.

The time has come for the battle, and our boys gear up and ride away with the sunset at their backs. AJ and his dumb racists show up with guns, which is against the terms that Jax set for the duel. But that’s okay, because the Sons have the blacks and the Chinese on their side, and these bad boys are packing some serious heat. The weapons are thrown to the ground, and the bloody battle between Sam Crow and the racists begin. A nose got bitten off, some faces got smashed to bits, and the cops eventually showed up. They always show up to ruin a good time, don’t they? AJ is arrested on charges of arson, and the Sons of Anarchy go to the cigar shop hoping to find and exterminate Zobelle.

But Zobelle gets out of it alive. The cops show up, and Zobelle and his daughter are arrested for possession of heroin.

I have a feeling, though, that Zobelle will get his very soon.
