On this week’s episode of NCIS: Los Angeles there is a serial killer that is so good at what he does that nobody even knows he is a serial killer… except the agencies best forensic expert, Abby, who is called in to guest star in this episode. Problem is, nobody believes Abby when she says this serial killer exist and has preyed on 14 victims underneath everyone’s radar. In fact they think she is a bit bonkers because her deductions seem really to be in far out left field.
This serial killer is the most sophisticated murderer the NCIS: Los Angeles team has come across. He has murdered people in multiple states using various methods and styles save one, and that is the fact that he never leaves any forensic evidence.
This is how Abby zeroed in on him and despite the fact that she doesn’t know anything else about the killer she is sure he is in fact a serial killer.
The situation gets a bit hairy when this guy figures out that someone is on his trail and Abby is spear heading the hunt. He decides to kidnap her and use her as one of his victims. Sam and Callen first believe it is a man who works in a law office, but when they break into the basement where they believe Abby is being held, they discover this man was merely being targeted as a victim and is not the phantom.
Abby is able to communicate to them with some type of sign language when the killer decides to stream her murder live over the internet. Because of this, they are able to locate where she is being held and Callen is able to jump into the room and save her life literally as the axe is swinging to chop off her head.
This was actually one of the better episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles and there were no quirky moments where you had to kind of bend reality, like you did in the 1980s when a killer has his gun pointed at you, with his finger on the trigger, and yet the cop is still able to pull his gun from the holster, aim and fire the weapon before the bad guy can pull the trigger. There have been a couple of those moments in this series, but this was simply a great episode.
