How did this happen? It seems like a week or two ago I was writing about the Dancing With The Stars season premiere, now I am watching the finals. I guess its true, time does fly when your having fun. This year the finals show was a great episode, with an added Mega Mix Challenge.

Mya and Dmitry have been a favorite on the show for weeks. With Mya’s natural dancing ability and high judges’ scores, she has always been the one to beat. She performed a Paso Doble that was powerful and aggressive. The judges thought it was perfect and gave her a 30. Their freestyle dance was very disappointing.

It was like watching the Wiggles, yet they received a 27 for this dance.

Let’s face it, going into this week, I knew the real competition was between Kelly and Louis and Donny and Kym, for second place. Donny is a great showman and knows how to work an audience. He did this with a fun and exciting Cha Cha, which got them a 27. Their freestyle dance was amazing, definitely the best of the night. It was fun and exciting and they received 30 points.

Kelly and Louis are the shocking couple this week.  Kelly has made the biggest transformation of all the dancers.  She added a lot of passion and style to the Argentine Tango, which had a very cool ending but only scored a 26. Unfortunately, during the freestyle she fell on one of the lifts, but it was still more exciting than Mya’s. They received a 24 for the freestyle.

The Mega Mix Challenge was a dance with all the couple dancing the same choreography, on stage at the same time. There were three types of dance in the challenge; the Viennese Waltz, The Samba, and The Jive.  Kelly had a wardrobe malfunction but recovered. Of course, Mya came in first for 30 points, Donny came in 2^nd for 28 points and Kelly came in third for 26 points.

At the end of the night, Mya was leading with 87 points, Donny was in second with 85 points and Kelly was in third with 76 points. In the Finale, the teams will dance another dance just for the judges, the old stars will be here, and special guest Whitney Houston will perform.

I was heartbroken over Kelly’s problems this week, but she seemed to have fun and take it all in stride. It looks like Mya is going to win this season. We could have a huge upset, depending on who is voting. We will find out in the two hour finale.
