It’s the busiest shopping day of the year and it’s also when you can find the best deals on many items from toys for the little ones to major electronics, a.k.a. toys for the big folks. When it comes to TVs, other related equipment and DVDs, there is no better day out of the 365 we get per year here on planet earth to get a great deal. So let’s take a look at the best of the 2009 Black Friday sales and what kind of deals you can find on televisions, DVD and Blu-ray players, DVRs and more. With the recession kicking butt this year, retailers are trying to do everything they can to get you into their stores and buying products for Christmas. With that being said, this is one year you don’t want to miss out on Black Friday’s offerings.
Wal-Mart Black Friday Sales
Wal-Mart has quite a few electronic items up for grabs this year. However, if you ask me (I know, you didn’t, but I’m going to give you my two cents anyway), by far the best deal they have on television viewing related equipment is their Emerson 32″ LCD 720p HDTV, for only $248.
This is an excellent entry price into the HDTV market. If you’ve got a few more bucks to spend and want to go all out for your money, then their Sony Bravia 46″ LCD 1080p HDTV is the way to go for only $798. But see for yourself in their ad below:

Target Black Friday Sales
Target answers Wal-Mart’s bargains with a pretty good one of their own: a Westinghouse 32″ LCD 720p HDTV for only $246 (note that they undercut Wally World by $2). On the other end of the spectrum they have the Apex 40″ LCD 1080p HDTV for only $449. That’s six inches less screen than Wal-Mart’s top end offering, but that’s also a savings of $350. So you decide … are those six diagonal inches worth an extra $350? Just for the record, they’re not worth it in my book and if you decide to go high end, Target is the place.

Best Buy Black Friday Sales
Best Buy isn’t trying to play low-ball this year, apparently. They do have a wider variety of HDTV models to choose from, but their best deals don’t beat out any of the other stores’ deals that I’ve highlighted so far. So let’s just take a look at one item that I would consider the best deal if Best Buy were truly my store of choice. They have a Sony Blu-ray disc player for only $149, regular price $199. Now this may not seem like that big of a deal, but you also get to pick a free Blu-ray movie from a specified selection to go with your purchase. They have another Blu-ray player on sale from Samsung, but why not go with the brand that was behind the creation of the Blu-ray in the first place?

Well, there you have it, my picks from the most sought after Black Friday sales ads for 2009. It’s hard to beat these prices any other day of the year. The only caveat about Black Friday sales is that each store usually has a limited quantity of each item, they don’t offer rain checks, and the doors open early.

Nice round-up Mike!! I'd add my two cents that you can save some good money on the 720p TVs and for 98% of the world, you can't really tell any difference between that and a 1080.
