The Amazing Race tests a team’s endurance and searching abilities. One team hits a snare at the beginning of this leg that starts a downward spiral into last place. One team’s devious ways tick off two other teams, and a surprise in the game gives one team a second chance.
In this episode, the teams left Estonia and headed toward Prague, in the Czech Republic. Sam and Dan thought Prague was a country … are they crazy? There was a bit of an equalizer at the airport because the first flight left four hours after the first team arrived. So, all the teams got on the same flight. In Prague teams had to find the old town square and locate a vintage Praga (car).
Of course, most teams had no idea what a Praga was. Meghan and Cheyne looked it up on the computer in the airport. They were the only team smart enough to do this. Ericka and Brian took a tip from a local that actually slowed them down and put them in last past.
The guy in the Praga gave them the next clue which sent them to a kayaking park for a detour. The teams could choose to kayak down a rapids course and grab the clue, but if they tip over they have to start over; or they could choose to take a high wire rope course and grab their clue. Sam and Dan were the only ones to try the rafting. After tipping over three times they decided to do the ropes. Meghan and Cheyne made quick work of the ropes. Flight Time flew across the course, but Big Easy was so large his feet were touching the water below. When Ericka and Brian arrived, Sam and Dan had given up and were about to start the ropes course. Ericka was having trouble until Sam and Dan hijacked their taxi.
The teams were then sent to a gigantic theater where they had to search the 600 chairs to locate one of four tiny mandolins. An opera singer was on stage singing and he had the next clues. Everybody was having difficulty finding these instruments. Meghan and Cheyne got theirs first. The Globetrotters were having fun dancing and laughing. Sam and Dan, who arrived third, found their clue second. The Ericka and Brian showed up. Big Easy finally found one and left Ericka there to look. It took her so long that the singer stopped and had a sandwich. The next clue led to the pit stop at Prague castle, the largest ancient castle in the world.
At the Pit stop, Meghan and Cheyne came in first, followed by Sam and Dan. Flight Time and Big Easy were right on Sam and Dan’s Tail. Ericka and Brian came in last. Lucky for them, this leg was a non elimination leg. They were given a second chance at the race. I was surprised to see this leg be a non-elimination leg, considering we already had two this season.
