This season of Heroes has built up major tension. All the heroes face difficult emotional and personal issues, that despite not being near as dramatic as a the world blowing up, have everyone scrambling to find out who they really are and what their purpose is.
At the Sullivan Brothers Carnival, Hiro holds Charlie’s name tag, lamenting losing her again. Samuel tells him he will tell where Charlie is if he completes one simple task. Eight weeks ago, he killed Mohinder Suresh before he could find what Mohinder was hiding from him. Samuel wants Hiro to go back in time and get what he was looking for, but Hiro wants to save Mohinder.
Nine weeks in the past, Mohinder wakes up and takes out his father’s film.
While watching the film, his father notes when two or more people with special abilities are in the same area, it generates massive spikes of energy that could be potentially dangerous. Using his father’s information, he creates a compass that will allow him to find others with powerful abilities. Mohinder approaches Joseph Sullivan and tells him Samuel is amplifying his abilities by drawing on the power from the others in the carnival. Joseph does not mention Mohinder’s true intention to Samuel, and asks Mohinder to come inside to talk him. He is aware of what his brother can do, and has been trying to keep him in the dark about his true power. For years he suppressed his own power to keep Samuel at bay. He tells Mohinder to go back to India and keep quiet. Outside the trailer, Samuel overhears everything. Back at his hotel, Mohinder destroys the film, but Hiro stops time, retrieves the film. When Samuel shoots Mohinder, he is wearing a bullet-proof vest, and Hiro explains to him what is going on. He asks Mohinder to disappear for eight weeks, but Mohinder refuses. Hiro hides him in time, and when he wakes up he is in a mental institution.
Nathan is back, but can’t remember much about the past few weeks, as he spent his time in the carnival struggling to remember who he is. The Haitian warns Peter, and says it is up to Peter to discover the truth on his own, but it may be a truth he can’t bear. He and Nathan go to a storage unit and find Nathan’s dead body. Peter doesn’t believe that Nathan is not himself, and promises they will figure out what’s going on.
Nathan’s secretary brings information about Matt, who is in critical condition in a hospital. Peter says they should save him and they head to the hospital. As soon as Peter heals Matt, Sylar appears and tells him that good things do come to those who wait. Matt tells Nathan that Sylar killed him, and he’s trying to get his body back. Sylar enters Matt’s body and tells Nathan to take his hand. Nathan touches Sylar’s hand and reenters his body, then he and Peter fly away. Even though Sylar is back in his body, a part of Nathan still lingers.
Tracy has lost control of her abilities, and goes to Noah for help, but finds Claire instead. They find that her inability to control her power is psychological. She decides to call Samuel and join him in the carnival.
How long before Sylar takes over Nathan, and what’s going to happen to Tracy now that she’s joined Samuel? I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to find out. How about you?
