Our hero Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is having a hard time, being eaten up by the fact that he most likely killed an innocent man. After all, it’s against Harry’s code, and we all know how dedicated Dexter is to the code.

Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) is making headway with the Trinity (John Lithgow) case. She reveals all of her theories to the homicide department, and the surprising outcome? Laguerta (Lauren Velez) buys it. Dexter is less than thrilled, as this means that Miami’s talented detectives are getting closer and closer to Arthur Mitchell, which is simply unacceptable. After all, Dexter needs to kill Arthur…or learn from him…or…both?

On checking in with Arthur, Dexter finds that he has planned an out-of-town excursion to Tampa.

Could this be his cycle starting over? Or is he really just concerned with building houses for the needy? Dexter finds his own alibi for going to Tampa: a meteorological seminar. At a seedy pit stop, Dexter tells Arthur why he’s “troubled”—he killed a man. A hunting accident, he says. “I thought he was an animal.”

As a “surprise” to Dexter, Arthur brings him to his childhood home to show him “where it all started.” In a slew of bitter emotion, Arthur tells our hero about the deaths of his family members, something he says he has never told anyone. Why did he tell Dexter? To let him know that they are alike. “You’re just like me! We’re both responsible for the death of an innocent!” Of course, he’s not talking about the dozens of people he has murdered. He’s talking about being blamed for his sister’s death at the age of ten. Funny thing is that he also decides to share his past mistakes with a random family in a café. Looks like Arthur is starting to lose it.

In a strange turn of events, Dexter finds Arthur in an attempt to kill himself—and he saves him. Just when I thought Trinity was going to die by the blade of Dexter’s knife, the writers of the show go and turn everything all upside down.

Back in Miami, Deb finds some proof that shows that there is no way that the 6’4” Trinity Killer shot her. So who did?

Rita (Julie Benz) has an innocent (but very obvious) flirtation with a neighbor, and Angel (David Zayas) and Laguerta are back in bed…or on the table…together. Love is in the air.

I almost peed myself watching the previews for next week’s Dexter. Hurry up, Sunday!
