The CSI crossover event that crossed CSI: NY, CSI Miami and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation came together in Las Vegas, with an action packed search for Madeline Briggs. The episode started with a woman running through a Hotel/Casino and getting attacked right outside. Ray Lankston (Laurence Fishburne) was walking the streets looking for Madeline, when Nick tells him they have a case.

The girl that was killed at the casino was Dee Dee, a weather girl from Barstow. At the scene, a line of women are leaving the hotel, when the police show up they text each other, on “The Ho-Vine,” to tell them to leave.

Upon investigation, the team discovers she has been a prostitute, been beaten and had a brand new tattoo. Apparently, pimps brand their women like cattle, with specific tattoos. The team goes to a big pimp get together to locate the girls with that specific tattoo.  They arrest a girl with a matching tattoo, for having cocaine on the money she was carrying.

The team notices Dee Dee is wearing one of Madeline’s earrings and it has her blood on it. When the prostitute is bailed out of jail, the team follows her home to the pimp’s house. While taking surveillance photos, they discover the pimp has the other earring. They get a warrant and search the house. Only to find the girl they arrested bloody and tied up in the closet. They also discover a bed upstairs covered in blood.

The beat up girl tells Nick and Catherine, her pimp saved her from a Russian. Her tattoo is actually covering the Russians brand. The team searches the database and found the Russian with the butterfly tattooed girls. He is a professor. They find Madeline Briggs’ blood in his car. They examine his GPS system and go into the desert to the location pre-programmed into the unit. There they uncover four mummified female bodies. None of the girls are Madeline.

The evidence shows that Madeline’s blood was on the bed in the pimp’s house and that she had a miscarriage there. The also discover that the bloody beat up girl was following Dee Dee. Dee Dee was going to run away from the pimp and the other prostitute killed her. The Russian swears he let Madeline go. So, Ray uses one of the phones they found in the pimps house to send out a massive text asking Madeline to come back.

The text works and Madeline is found safe and taken home. I give props to the CSI writers for bringing us this awesome crossover week. I just knew Madeline was in a ditch somewhere dead. I am so glad I was wrong. It is great to see a somewhat happy ending every once in a while.
