In this week’s episode of CSI: NY Langston continues his search for the missing girl from Las Vegas and his search brings him to the Big Apple – New York City. An eighteen wheeler truck crash uncovers evidence that it is being used to traffic girls, both dead and alive, across state lines. In the back of the big rig they find a young girl’s body stuffed into a barrel. After further investigation it is discovered that she dead because her liver was surgically removed and she bleed to death.

The team tracks down the victim’s stolen liver to a hospital where a rouge doctor is in the process of implanting it into another patient.

After the surgery the doctor is interrogated and the CSI: NY team learns that he has been purchasing organs from unknown sources without asking or caring where the organs came from. It is established that dozens of young girls may have been killed to harvest their organs to sell to this doctor.

With the evidence found in the truck wreckage along with some extensive and painstaking forensics and investigative research, they are able to capture the guy responsible for delivering the live girls and dead bodies across state lines, but just like the killers in Miami, he also refuses to give up information on the crime ring that employs him. He only implies that he has disposed of body parts all across the country. So many, in fact, that he can’t even remember where all of them are. This leaves Langston with no answers as he continues to search for the missing girl.

This was a particularly high quality episode of CSI: NY.  I’m not sure if it is because of all the background information I already knew about the case, but the need to know the entire story behind this crime family, and if they can be brought down, is very intriguing.
