If George Orwell ever did a television show, V would be that show. In the tradition of The X-Files with ‘Trust no one,’ V has already established its ‘Don’t trust anyone’ atmosphere, continuing with last night’s episode.

After the debacle at the warehouse that saw the Visitors revealed for what they are, a race of sneaky lizard people, a small clean-up crew disposes of the bodies, including FBI Agent Dale Maddox, who was a V all this time. Erica makes an anonymous call to 911, which is intercepted by the V’s, and her and Father Jack are on the run. Erica is then brought in for questioning in Dale’s disappearance.

So is Father Jack Landry, but for a different reason. Funny, since those two seem to be spearheading the whole resistance movement. After they find Dale’s car at the warehouse though, Erica retrieves her badge and gun that she left there, apparently clearing herself of any suspicion.

Too bad the Visitors captured a human, and are now torturing him to find out the names of the others that were at the meeting.

Ryan pays a visit to New Jersey to visit Angelo, another V who has deserted the fold. He heals Ryan’s sliced arm with some super glue, but drugs him with a needle, and then takes off. What a nice V.

Newsman Chad Decker, still torn over his decision to let Anna control their last interview, goes on the air in a round table discussion with some experts, weighing the pros and cons of the V’s establishing diplomatic relations with the United States. Anna, of course, is not pleased. She’s not eating any canaries just yet though, and the U.S. does establish relations, allowing some V’s to get passports and travel freely within its borders.

Erica’s son, Tyler, who has become a Peace Ambassador for the Visitors, hands out flyers at a protest. It turns ugly though when a protester starts beating on his friend. Tyler reacts in a less than peaceful manner by smacking him in the face. Lisa, the V who Tyler is smitten with, lets him know that the Council is thinking of kicking him out, and since she recommended him, says buh-bye to Tyler.

Erica pays a visit to her fallen partner’s wife, trying to get any information she can. She discovers some phone calls he was making to tip off the V’s to their investigation, and presents them to her boss. He plays her 911 call though, and she has to spill half-truths, saying that Dale was a member of a terrorist cell.

Chad Decker visits Anna on the mother ship. He now thinks he has the upper hand when it comes to doing interviews. Silly boy. Anna’s a meat-eating lizard, don’t you know? Oh, right, he doesn’t.

Dale’s lifeless body is lying on a table in the mother ship and, surprise-surprise, his eyes pop open to end the episode.

Yes, it’s true, you can’t trust anyone, but you can continue to trust ABC and V to provide top-notch entertainment.
