In this week’s episode of CBS television’s hit new drama, NCIS: Los Angeles, the team is brought in when the body of a U.S. Marine named Brandon Valdivia is found after he’s been thrown off the top of one of the upscale hotels located downtown. They quickly discover that there are several unknowns that have to be unraveled before they can get to the bottom of why he was killed.

The investigation eventually leads them to Alex Walder and they learn that he and Valdivia were partners in the money counterfeiting scheme that involved plates brought back from Iraq. A Secret Service Agent named Natalie Giordano comes in and explains that their case is connected to a counterfeit distribution network she’s been investigating.  She offers to assist them in solving who killed the marine because it will help her get to the bottom of her own case. Natalie also makes it obvious that she would be interested in getting to know Callen on a deeper, more personal level.

After interrogating Walder Sam and Callen are led to believe that the printer in the counterfeit scheme is the one who killed Valdivia so Kensi and Callen go undercover to gather evidence on the printer. They arrange to meet with the buyers of the counterfeit bills by keeping the serial number tool that is need to complete the counterfeiting process. The team is shocked to find out that the buyer is Walder’s own Sergeant and that he is the one who killed Valdivia. After seeing millions of dollars being spent by the government to finances unnecessary wars, the Sergeant got fed up with it all, so he created a scheme to steal the real money being sent over to the Middle East so that he could keep the real shipment for himself.
