This week on Dancing With The Stars, the teams came together to compete against other teams in a Paso Doble verses Tango team competition. One professional is out sick and one star is fighting illness. With double elimination looming over their heads the stars have to step it up or they will be walking out.
After being saved in the dance-off last week, Michael and Anna performed a great, traditional Fox Trot. There were some small mistakes but Michael has improved greatly. They received a 23 for their dance.
Donny and Kym tried to redeem themselves with a Quickstep. It was fast and exciting.
Donny did make a couple mistakes, but overall it was fun. Their score was a 24.
Mark had a rough week. He was performing in New York and Lacey got sick. Tony came in to help him train some. On Friday, Anna Trebunskaya stepped in as his partner and he had to learn a new routine. Needless to say, their Samba was reckless and wild. It was fun, but it wasn’t good enough. He received the lowest score of the night, a 19.
Mya and Dmitry were up next and preformed a classic Fox Trot. It was very reminiscent of old Hollywood. The dance was dramatic and had a few gimmicks. They scored a 25.
The next dance was the highest scored dance of the night, the Jive by Arron and Karina. This Jive was full of energy and fun. They were given a score of 29 for the dance.
The Salsa was performed by Kelly and Louis. Kelly attacked the dance with passion and it worked. This was one of my favorites. Their score was a 24.
Joanna and Derek took the stage with a sexy Rumba. It was almost perfect except she stumbled in her dress. They received a 27.
The team competition was up next. The couples were divided into two teams to perform together. The Paso Doble Team was up first with Mark and Anna, Aaron and Karina, Mya and Dmitry, and Michael and Anna. The team had problems coming together at practice until Michael stepped in and gave them a locker room pep talk. I love a good Paso Doble. It is probably my favorite dance and this team’s performance was great. However, some areas were sketchy. Each team received a 24.
The Tango team was up next. This team included Joanna and Derek, Kelly and Louis, and Donny and Kym. Even though I have a passion for the Paso Doble, this dance was awesome. It was very cohesive and judges awarded each team a 28.
Tomorrow, we will see another double elimination and a dance-off. Even though I feel sorry for Mark, his dancing really wasn’t up to par. I also fear if Kelly doesn’t tackle harder moves she may be leaving. We will find out tomorrow, on the results show.
