This week on Dancing With The Stars, the couples performed their first marathon dance. For some reason, the judges were extremely rough tonight, with 26 as the highest score given. I wonder if they are still upset about last week’s results show.  We will find out if the judges’ scolding remarks have any effect on the voting during  the results show.

The teams chose between the Jitterbug and the Waltz for solo performance this week. Mya and Dmitry went first with an entertaining Jitterbug. It was cute but not spectacular. The judges’ score was a 26.

Melissa Joan Hart and Mark performed a so-so waltz.

Melissa looked as though the moves were forced. They received a 20.

The next Jitterbug was performed by Mark and Lacy. This was full of stunts and lifts. The whole dance was high energy and fun. Their score was a 26. This was disappointing. They were much better than Mya.

Aaron showed is grown up sophisticated side, with a mature Waltz. He stumbled a little. But it was beautiful and smooth. Aaron and Karina scored a 25.

Michael and Anna also performed a charming Waltz. He is growing as a dancer every week.  Their score was a 20.

Kelly and Louis let me down this week, with their Jitterbug. It was not quite the performance we’re used to. The judges gave their dance a 20.

Louie and Chelsie integrated some of Louie’s snow boarding into their Jitterbug. It was exciting and fun, however, some parts were awkward and the timing was off.

A smooth and graceful waltz was performed by Joanna and Derek. She did have a few missteps which left them with a score of 26.

Donny and Kym closed the solo performances with a fabulous jitterbug. The timing was off a little, but, overall it was entertaining. They received a 24.

After the solo performances, the couples preformed a marathon Mambo. In this marathon points were awarded to all the teams depending on when they were pulled from the floor. They were pulled in this order:

Michael and Anna- receiving two points for a total of 22 points

Louie and Chelsie- receiving three points for a total of 24 points

Melissa and Mark- receiving four points for a total of 24 points

Kelly and Louie-receiving five points for a total of 25 points

Mark and Lacey-receiving six points for a total of 32 points

Donny and Kym-receiving seven points for a total of 31 points

Aaron and Karina- receiving eight points for a total of 33 points

Mya and Dmitry- receiving Nine points for a total of 33 points

Joanna and Derek- receiving 10 points for a total of 36 points

The marathon was great fun to watch. Although Michael is improving, I don’t think he has what he needs to stay in the competition much longer. Tomorrow will be the first of two weeks where we will have a double elimination. We will also see a dance off for the first time this season.
