Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) are back from their incredible honeymoon in Puerto Rico, and just in time for hilarity to ensue.
Blind Guy McSqueezy is Michael’s (Steve Carell) new character, and he couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. Who is Blind Guy McSqueezy, you may ask? Why, a man who fell into a vat of acid eyes-first and, therefore, is blind. Poor Blind Guy McSqueezy.
Strangely enough, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) takes a moment to congratulate Jim on his promotion with a gift of a duck carving. But is it just a nice gift of congratulations? Not if we all know Dwight…and we do. And, just like we thought, there is a recording device embedded in the duck’s belly so that Dwight can follow Jim’s every move. Of course, Jim finds the device and decides to use it to royally mess with Dwight. Good old prank-ruling Jim is back, folks!
While all of this is fun and good, the big news on the Dunder-Mifflin front is that Michael is hooking up with Pam’s mom. Quite possibly the funniest moment of this episode was when Pam finds out the news. Her face melts as she whimpers, “Who is it? Who is it, Michael?” And her reaction once she confirms that it is, indeed, her mom that Michael’s boning? Screaming and running out of the room. And then standing in the parking lot and screaming some more. I sure do love Pam.
When Pam freaks out to her mother, things erupt during a company meeting, and the whole office finds out about Michael’s affair. Pam and Michael get into a screaming match that goes…nowhere. Literally. Both parties declare that they are never going to leave the office, and they continue to lash out against each other…and they’re not above using other Dunder-Mifflin employees against each other.
The end result? Michael might be sleeping with Pam’s mom, but at least Pam and Jim have each other to cheer up after a hard day.
