The Addams Family has been a favorite for group Halloween costumes for years. With the Addams family there are enough characters to dress up almost any size family, with one theme. So have fun and find out which Addams you are.
Gomez
Gomez is an easy character to dress up as. His costume consists of a pin-striped black or navy suit, with a white shirt and tie. Slick back your hair and get a black mustache. You will also need a cigar. You can’t do Gomez with out a cigar.
Morticia
For this costume all you need is a long black wig, a long black dress or shirt skirt combination and black shoes. For the best effect you should paint your face pale and wear dark eyeliner. Morticia normally wears bright red lipstick.
Cousin Itt
For this costume you will need to buy two (or more) long blonde wigs, a pair of sunglasses and a Bolo hat. Use a sheet to cover the body and cut out eye holes. Glue or sew the wigs to the sheet. Trim the bottom of the sheet so that it does not hang out under the wigs.
Wednesday
Wednesday wears a plain black dress with a white collar. You can use black and white striped stockings or plain black stockings. Her shoes are black Mary-Jane style shoes. You can buy a wig and braid it in two braids or if you have longer hair, braid your own hair. A headless Barbie doll dressed the same as you will add to the costume.
Pugsley
For Pugsley, you need a black and white striped shirt, a black pair of shorts, black shoes and shocks. He is very simple but without the rest of the family people usually do not understand the costume.
Uncle Fester
He is easily my favorite. For Fester you will need a bald wig, if you have hair. Find a long one piece Halloween dress or smock and tie a rope around the waste. Paint your face pale with dark circles around your eyes.
The Addams family costumes are as classic as werewolves and vampires. These costumes can be made very inexpensively and made to look fanatic. With characters like Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and Cousin Itt you can’t go wrong for Halloween.
