This week on CBS television’s hit comedy show, The Big Bang Theory, the episode opens up with Leonard, Howard, Rajeh and Penny playing a Dungeons and Dragon type of card game called Mystic Warlords of Ka’a.
Meanwhile, Sheldon refuses to play because he has something similar to a photographic mind and knows every card in each player’s hand at any given time, so the game is absolutely a boring to him. Penny is less than enthused about the game and doesn’t mind showing it. In fact, one of the first really funny moments of the show is when Sheldon blurts out what cards are in her hand and how she is so happy the game is over that she immediately heads for the door before someone suggests she play another hand.
After she is gone, Howard reminds Leonard of some type of pact they made some five years ago about if one of them ever gets hooked up with a hot girl that the other would get their girlfriend to hook them up with a friend.
Leonard is not excited about the idea but ends up coaxing Penny to play match-maker for Howard.
The couples double date and at first Howard and his date seem to have no chemistry whatsoever. While driving to the restaurant Leonard and Penny prepare to endure what promises to be one of the worst nights of their lives. Howard and his date finally bond on is how much each of them hate the over-protectiveness of their mothers.
Sheldon becomes hell-bent on confronting and beating Wil Wheaton, the actor who played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, in a Mystic Warlords tournament. It seems that Wheaton failed to show up for the Dixie Trek convention in 1995, while Sheldon rode on a but 10 hours to meet him. This totally crushed Sheldon and he has held on to this grudge all these years.
Rajeh and Sheldon enter into the contest, which Sheldon aces because he knows which cards each person is holding. In the final round, he lashes out at Wheaton for not showing up to the 1995 event. Wheaton spins him a totally fictitious story about his grandmother dieing so that Sheldon would allow him and his partner to win.
This was another great episode of The Big Bang Theory. This show has some of the best jokes and humor of any show out there right now.
