Last week Heroes left us in thrall as Hiro collapsed in Peter’s arms. Sylar was on the lam and welcomed into the traveling carnival, and Claire was pledging sorority with her strange new friend. I don’t know about you, but my mind’s been itching for a little closure since last Monday, so without further ado, let’s get on with the recap.

In the hospital, Hiro tells Peter that the out-of-control nature of his illness is leading him strategically back in time so he can right wrongs before he dies. Emma comes to Peter and tells him she thinks there is something wrong with her ability, but he directs her to Hiro, who has an abundance of knowledge when it comes to abilities.

Emma asks Hiro how she can stop her ability, but Hiro is adamant that she accept her power as part of who she is. Hiro realizes that he can connect Emma to her powers by demonstrating the healing wonder of their abilities in front of the hospital’s children. He stops time to make her “disappear” and while she’s walking around the room, she sees how beautiful the power is. Emma doesn’t understand how Hiro can continually sacrifice himself to help others, and he tells her about Charlie. He remembers that he must save Charlie, and his ability sends him back three years to the diner where he first met Charlie.

Sullivan tells Sylar that he can help him restore his memories, but for the moment Sylar is confused by Nathan’s memories. He introduces Sylar to Lydia, and plots to jump-start Sylar’s memories and power. As they move on through the carnival, Sylar’s grasping only Nathan’s memories until Sullivan introduces him to Damien, who can restore Sylar’s true memories. Inside the house of mirrors, Damien touches Sylar’s mind, and sends him through the mirrored walls where he remembers. After he sees his past, Sylar is beside himself with grief over all the horrors he’s hidden inside his mind. Sullivan explains to Sylar that he has been given a gift and needs exhibit strength and take control. The community welcomes him. The policeman is there, and Sullivan uses that as leverage to get Sylar to embrace his power. Inside the house of mirrors, Sylar chooses to walk away, but the knife thrower comes in and finishes the job. Sullivan baptizes Sylar and welcomes him into the family.

Claire checks up on Noah, and Peter comes walking out of the bathroom. He tells them about Hiro and asks Noah to help him find someone who can help save Hiro’s life. They teleport to Georgia to find a boy named Jeremy who has the power to restore life. There they find a house surrounded by death, not what one would expect from a healer. The boy upstairs begins to fire warning shots. Noah ascends the stairs and asks Jeremy what’s wrong. He says that everything he touches ends up dead. Peter comes up behind them and winds up getting shot.  Noah tells Jeremy he needs to heal Peter, but Jeremy is afraid he’ll kill him. Noah convinces Jeremy that he can heal people if he learns to control his power, and he kneels down to heal Peter. Noah promises Jeremy that everything will turn out fine.

We all know that things are never fine in the Heroes universe, otherwise there would be no need for heroes at all. I’ll see you next week as Claire finds herself in danger, Hiro explores the past yet again and Sylar begins to embrace the demon within.
