The Vampire Diaries is becoming one of my favorite shows. Yes, there is teenage drama, but there is a lot of action and suspense. This week we learn more about Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) past as well as what happened to Vicki.

We started at the end of last week’s episode. Only this time when Stefan opens the door, we are back in 1864. A carriage pulls up to a house with Stefan standing on the porch. In the carriage is Catherine, who looks just like Elana, and her servant, who looks like Bonnie.  Then we are thrust back to present day with Elana and Stefan talking outside.

He finally admits he is a vampire.

Damon is in the woods with Vicki and her friends. Damon burns the bodies, but Vicki is still alive. He takes her to the house. At the house Damon lets her drink his blood. He is diabolical.  This girl is already unstable. Now we are going to have a self-destructive, crazy vampire on the lose. She is invigorated. They dance and party all day. Then she freaks out and runs to Jeremy’s House.

Elana and Stefan talk all about him being a vampire and how Mystic Falls did have many in the past. He takes her to his old house. We again see a flashback of when Damon and Stefan were changed into vampires. Turns out Catherine was the vampire that turned them and now Stefan is after her look alike, Elana. It won’t be long before she is turned too.

Back at Elana and Jeremy’s house, Vicki comes in and is acting crazy. Jeremy thinks she is on something and calls Sam. When Stefan and Elana arrive, Stefan knows she is transitioning into a vampire. All she has to do is drink human blood. Vicki runs from the house. Stefan tracks her into the woods. At the same time, in the same woods, there is a local band of vampire hunters. The hunters now have the watch that leads them to vampires.

The news reporter from last week shoots Stefan with a wooden bullet. Damon jumps on him and bites him. Then when Stefan and Damon aren’t looking Vicki feeds on him. Yep, we’ve got ourselves another vampire. Damon picks up the watch before they leave.

Next week Vicki is ready to be a predictor at a Halloween party. This is great. No only does Stefan have to try to control Damon, he also has Vicki to worry about. I wonder if they killed the news guy or if he is hanging on to life. Damon now has the watch. How are they going to track them now?
