I would just like to take a moment and say “I love survivor!” Survivor Samoa is turning out to be one of my favorites. There is something so diabolically evil about joy from other people’s suffering, but I can’t help it. I love to see the castmates soaking wet, hungry and at their wits end.

This week, we start our journey in the Galu tribe with Monica furious that she received votes at the last tribal council, but there is no time to pout. The reward challenge is coming up. At the reward challenge, one member of each team rolled a ball that landed on some weird ingredients. Things like octopus, snail guts, sea urchin, and my favorite, Jeff Probst‘s choice.

Jeff made Samoan smoothies out of the ingredients the balls landed on. The teams were tied up to the last round when Ashley, from Foa Foa, was having a hard time with her smoothie. The other team was trying to psych her out by making horrible sounds and yelling at her. She didn’t finish and Galu won sausages, steaks, vegetables, spices and utensils.

Russell chose to send Shambo t0 Foa Foa, much to her dismay. His reasoning behind this was that she had to pay for the chicken she lost last week. Shambo seemed right at home with Foa Foa. She even shares the clues to the immunity idol, which of course is not there because Russell has it. Liz begins to suspect that Russell has the idol. When she questions him about it, he gets all defensive, asking her if she wants to be there because if she goes against him she will be kicked off. This dude’s got more balls than the toy section in Wal-Mart.

At the immunity challenge, one man and one woman were chosen from each team to hold on to a rope connected to a net. Members of the other tribe threw coconuts into the net. The tribe that drops both the nets first loses. Foa Foa was having a hard time even making to the net when Galu was throwing two or three coconuts at a time into the net. Galu wins again.

Back at the camps, it’s storming like crazy, freezing outside and everyone looks like a drowned rat. The Foa Foa team can’t even strategize about who they are going to vote out because they are trying to stay warm and dry. Ashley tries to convince everyone to discuss who is going home right then and there, to no avail.

The tribal council proved to be very interesting. I think everyone was talking because there was fire and a roof over their head. They talked mostly about trust. Ashley was voted out with an almost unanimous vote.

Episodes like this are what makes Survivor great. Shambo’s on the outs with her team. Russell’s trying to stay ahead in his. Everyone else is holding on for dear life. Next week, the storms continue and another castaway gets hurt.
