True Blood is a great TV show for inspiration when it comes to dressing up for Halloween. The show revolves around Bill Compton, a kind vampire who is in love with a human, Sookie. The vampires in True Blood drink a synthetic blood called Tru-Blood. Vampires are a great inspiration for Halloween costumes.
Dress like Bill Compton.
Bill is easy to create, simply find a pair of black pants and a button up shirt of any color. Paint your face and hands white or pale and buy some vampire teeth.
Dress like Sookie Stackhouse.
If you don’t have blonde hair a wig will do well for Sookie. Find some short shorts and a white polo shirt or tight tee shirt. Find a waiter’s apron, preferably green. Wear white ankle socks and tennis shoes. A serving tray can be used as a prop if needed.
Dress like Lorena.
Wear a medium length cocktail dress, the sexier the better. Pale skin and dramatic, dark eye make up and dark red lipstick is perfect for her. If you have a brown wig you can use it.
Dress like Maryann.
Find a flowing summer dress and a long brown wig. Put flowers in the wig and wear pretty, clean make up.
Dress like Lafayette.
Lafayette wears tight shirts and jeans. He often wears wild eccentric shirts and a black “do rag” on his head. He also carries vials of red water labeled “V.”
All the other vampires wear modern clothing, dark colors are best. Vampire teeth are of course essential in these costumes. HBO has also created a Tru Blood drink, for those that wish to be as authentic as possible.
True Blood is very popular show this season. Dressing like these characters can be fun for one or a larger group of people.
