On The Biggest Loser, we watch people transform themselves through weight loss. Did you ever wonder if they kept the weight off? I often wonder if it is as hard for them at home as it is for everybody else.  So here is an update on on the previous winners of The Biggest Loser.

Season 1 -Ryan Benson

Ryan started the show 330 lbs, at the finale he weighed 208 and the last record of his weight was 300. He now has three children and he appeared in a film about weight and body issues called Disfigured. Ryan said, “Unfortunately, keeping the weight off has been tough for me. The effect of the show only lasted a month.”

Season 2 -Matt and Suzy Hoover

These are my favorites.

I remember watching the show thinking they would be perfect together and wouldn’t you know it, I was right. Matt came in first on season 2 and Suzy came in second. Matt started at 339, at the finale he weighed 182and his current weight is 220. Suzy weighed 227, at the finale she was 132 and now she weighs in at 165. Matt proposed to Suzy live on the Today Show. They are married and have two sons. Matt started www.bestlifedesign.com, works as a motivational speaker and wrote the book “Matt Hoover’s Guide to Life, Love, and Losing Weight.” The couple is now competing in triathlons.

Season 3- Erik Chopin

Erik started the show at 407 lbs. After losing 124 lbs at The Biggest Loser ranch, Erik lost another 90 lbs at home. Erik went on Oprah to tell the world that he’d gained back 100 of the 200 pounds he lost. He has not given up. He is the national spokesperson for Health Across America and he educates people about type 2 diabetes.

Season 7- Helen Phillips

Helen weighed 257 at the beginning of the show. At the end she weighed 117. Her current weight is 135. She works with obese families, helping them lose weight.
